Yan "Salinda" Zheng studied traditional Chinese brush painting in Beijing for three years before emigrating to the US in 2012. She became interested in western watercolor style painting with the Santa Clara Valley Watercolor Society with her husband Dick. She attended Tony Couch's four-day watercolor workshop in Cambria, CA and recently studied watercolor at the Ichen Art Academy in Fremont, CA. Her landscape and floral watercolors reveal her "breakthrough" to western watercolor style. Before retirement in 2010 she was a Diplomat with the PRC Ministry of Foreign Arrairs stationed at embassies around the world.
